On August 26, 2010, the Congress leader and self-proclaimed soldier of the Adivasis, Rahul Gandhi visited to Niyamgiri in Orissa just two days after the Indian government denied clearance to the Vedanta Resource’s Rs.4500 crore bauxite mining project in Niyamgiri Hills. • Gladson Dungdung I have questioned to Mr. Rahul Gandhi, "Why the self proclaimed Soldier of the Adivasis is silent on the issue of Assam?"

    • Sarita Bhoi Because in reality Mr. Rahul Gandhi is the Soldier of Congressi sycophancy. He can eat at a Dalit or Adivasi household (in new utensils n food cooked in mineral water of course) and have a huge media coverage (Thnks to the hypocrisy of Indian media for glamourising these things) but these questions never bothered him, I wonder whether he is aware of the situation in Kokrajhar or not.

    • Gladson Dungdung Vincent, after working with the NHRC, I do believe that the NHRC is a toothless tiger. However, we should send the complaint. The NCST's chairperson has assured for justice to the Adivasis but still I have doubt.

    • Rashmi Ekka ‎@Gladson - Can you also please write more aiming at our own leaders. Ramdayal Munda and Babulal Marandi have made the trek to Assam. However those in power sitting in Ranchi do not seem to be very bothered by this. Perhaps this is not their vote back, so they don't care. At least no one has said anything much so far. However by your writing, perhaps they can be urged to give some relief from the CM Relief Fund.

    • Vincent Barla Thank you Gladson. I myself being in Government, I know the things but what to do. People in the system have become self-centred but we have to go on fighting. At least somewhere, someone may open his eyes and ears.
